Our head bakers started experimenting with gluten-free recipes in 1984 to support family dietary restrictions, and pretty soon we got really excited about rising to the challenge of home-baked goodness without the gluten. Since our early days in the kitchen, it has been our passion to experiment with clean ingredients to create allergen-free combinations that delight with uncompromised taste. After much encouragement from family and friends who started eating gluten-free by choice, we opened up our bakery to the public in 2003.
Today, we remain a family-owned business, operated out of our gluten-free, nut-free and soy-free bakery located in Old Colorado City, Colorado Springs. We supply fresh baked goods to local and regional grocery stores, select restaurants, through mail order, and directly to customers at our Old Colorado City storefront. While we are known for our fresh, local products, we have recently expanded our distribution nationwide by employing a rapid freezing technique that keeps cell structure and flavor intact.
We are proud of our expanding product line, which includes delicious gluten-free, vegan, glyphosate-free, non-GMO breads and bagels, as well as cookies, crackers, pies, and pizzas. And while we are excited to offer you more and more choices, each recipe must pass our discerning taste tests before we roll out a new product under the Outside The Breadbox name.
