Our story began in 1984, when our bakers started experimenting with gluten-free recipes to support family dietary needs. What started as a challenge quickly became a passion — creating home-baked goodness without the gluten. From those early days in the kitchen, we’ve been dedicated to using clean, wholesome ingredients to craft allergen-friendly recipes that never compromise on taste.
Colorado’s First Gluten-Free Bakery
Encouraged by family and friends — many of whom chose to go gluten-free by choice — we opened our doors to the public in 2003, becoming Colorado’s first gluten-free commercial bakery.
A Family Bakery, Still Growing
Today, we remain a proud, family-owned business operating from our dedicated gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free bakery in Colorado Springs, CO. From here, we bake fresh goods for grocery stores, restaurants, and online customers nationwide, as well as for our loyal locals who visit our Colorado Springs storefront.
Our expanding product line features gluten-free, vegan, glyphosate-free, and non-GMO breads, bagels, rolls, hamburger and hot dog buns, cookies, crackers, pizza crusts, and more. Each recipe is carefully developed and taste-tested before earning the Outside The Breadbox name — because we believe every bite should be both wholesome and delicious.
